Xbox 360 To Have More Efficient Chips in Fall

According to a report on the CNet Tech Blog, the new Xbox 360 Elites did not feature a new 65nm chip, but instead those chips will enter new models this fall. In English? Smaller, more energy efficient (Al Gore will cry less!) and cooler. That means that for those worried that their Xbox 360 may suddenly take flight based on the fan noise, those fears should be diminished in the newer versions.
No, those new Xbox 360 Elites that were released last weekend do not contain the new 65nm chips that Microsoft promised us. Production on those new silicon wafers is only starting this month, so they won't be finding their way into consoles you can actually buy until the fall.
