News straight outta Iceland, and it's time to blow out some candles!

EVE Online celebrates fourth anniversary

On May 6, 2003, the world of EVE Online came to life as players logged in for the first time and began staking their claims as pioneers in this brave new world. Browse through the celebration thread in our forum to see what devs and players alike recall as their favorite and most memorable experiences.

On this day, 4 years ago, EVE Online was released and the masses rejoiced because a new age of MMOG gaming and enlightenment was upon them - "The Age of EVE".

To commemorate this blessed event we would like you all, players, developers and volunteers alike, to post your most memorable event in the world of EVE. A lot has happened during these 4 years and we would like to celebrate this with a trip down memory lane.

My most memorable experience has to be getting into the EVE Beta back in 2001, downloading a client that was 0.97b build or something, and never installing or playing it because I had heard from some Jumpgate players that it was "a spreadsheet that made a pretty screen saver". I ended up playing Earth and Beyond. I wish I would have known then not to listen to them, as I would have at least 75 million Skill Points by now. Then again, I might have ended up in BoB, so it's better this way. Here's a video that shows why after 4 years, EVE is logged into every day:
