Mystery Game Puzzle Appears, Funcom Responsible?

Eurogamer has an article up with a cryptic letter that hints at a new game. The letter is a four line poem and all of it helps you find URLs that you will need to both find and solve a puzzle. You can find their article here.

Voodoo Extreme reports that the websites used in all of this are owned by Funcom, which obviously gives this a potential MMO angle.

If you want to try and solve the puzzle without spoilers, go to the Eurogamer site (don't read the comments) and get cracking. If you want to cut to the end, keep reading!

The poem on Eurogamer is this:

A GRIM, ODD, ARCANE SKY
ANY GOD, I MARK SACRED
A MASKED CRY ADORING
A DREAMY, SICK DRAGON

Each line is an anagram for "Dark Days Are Coming". This leads you to DarkDaysAreComing.com.

Furthermore, each line of the poem, sans punctuation, is a URL itself.

The DarkDaysAreComing.com site is the puzzle, the other four are key.

Before you begin, take all four images and bring them into a photo program. You need to make the "solution key" to the puzzle. Realign them so that the circle is continuous and the sun's face is the right way up. You'll need to rotate some of them. Each one has letters on it, and each is an anagram for "dark", "days", "are" and "coming. To get them in the right corners they should be in order, left to right, top to bottom (the way you read).

The solved answer key should look like this:

Then go back to DarkDaysAreComing.com. Click on the "o" in "Coming" and you'll see a London skyline and the feint outline of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man.

You need to place each image in the order of the key (and rotation) in the four corners of the Vitruvian Man's circle. You can uncover each symbol as follows:

• The ivy covered staffs by clicking near the top of the first building on the left.
• The dragons by clicking in the middle of the fourth building on the left.
• The winged bushel with arrows by clicking the third building from the right with words on top.
• The arrows and snake by clicking a light in the lower right corner.

Once you have all four, pick the symbol that EXACTLY matches the one on your key and put it in the correct corner. Then rotate it as your key shows you.

Voila! You have concept art and a link to message boards for a game called "Cry Gaia".
