Introducing the Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning International Community IRC Channel! We currently have hundreds of people (including a couple of developers) chatting about WAR, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Who are we?

We are a group of fans from all over the world, who have come together to create an IRC channel for the upcoming MMORPG, Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning. We are fansite admins, co-admins, fansite representatives, and a few neutral non fansite affiliated community folks who have all volunteered our time to create and run this channel.

What is our purpose?

Our purpose is to create a unification amongst the community, a common meeting ground that allows the sites to pool information and ideas while still maintaining individuality. We have tried to remain as neutral as possible giving all sites a say in the creation and running of the channel with equal responsibility for it's governing. In addition we wanted to create an environment in which Mythic representatives could become involved with the community from time to time without showing favouritism to one site over another.

How did this idea come about?

Have you ever had one of those "Wouldn't it be great..." moments? Thats what got the ball rolling on this project. The entire thing sprung up from an idyllic conversation that just kept picking up momentum as it was brought from person to person - only to wind up with this lovely project of ours! But isn't this a HUGE task? Absolutely! However we didn't let that stop us. This has taken many folks world wide ALOT of hours over several months to organise, working both together and sometimes individually on various aspects needed to get this channel off the ground. We have all played a part in some form or another. It has been a wonderful crazy time! We have formed some great friendships through this project, had some crazy laughs and far fewer hickups then you might imagine with such a large project to organise.

Do I have to give up my favourite IRC channel?

No way! We are not in the business of closing down other people's channels or telling people where they should or shouldn't spend their online time. This channel is in addition to your favourite WAR hang out, be that a guild channel, a fansite channel or just a general channel of some sort. We hope that if you do visit us, you will have a great time! We have alot of things planned, from a Warhammer Trivia bot to contests where you just might win some cool Warhammer loot. Not forgetting good old fashioned chat with folks from all over the world whom you might not ordinarily get a chance to meet up with. And you never know, you might see the legendary Richard Mythic. But be warned, he is likely to /flee at any time!
