This week's Fan Favorite comes from An Adventurer. Okay, there's actually several here, but they're all linked together with a single theme: The Atlan Stones.
The Atlan Stones have always stood out as great quests. In their day, an Atlan was the best weapon available. They were also a status symbol; one had to put a lot of time in hunting golems for pyreal motes. A complete set of Atlan stones and the tool was even more impressive. Today Atlan weapons at best a decent weapon for someone with below 250 skill. But recently Turbine changed Arcanum agents to accept Atlan Stones for writs, and the quests are once again popular.
The minor stones are a challenge for lower levels and a good test of your abilities to navigate the lands. They are all located within small bunkers or caves on the landscape and net you 2 writs for all 4 stones.
The Major stone vaults are where the talents of the early developers shine. They created five vastly different vaults to hold the four stones and the removal tool. The vaults test your ability to time jumps and know the strength and speed which you must jump at. There are twisting mazes, levers that test your timing and quickness, and at lower levels the monsters themselves are still a challenge as well. They have always been great group quests but are still fun solo as well. And when you finish, you receive one writ for each major stone.
You can find WarCry's writeups on these quests in our quest compendium: The Minor Stones, The Major Smoldering Stone, The Major Shivering Stone, The Major Sparking Stone, and The Major Stinging Stone.
