Neverwinter Nights 2: NW Chronicles Interviews Rob McGinnis

| 14 Jun 2007 04:00

Usually the announcer for various NWN 2-related interviews, Rob McGinnis is the subject of an interview at Italian site, Neverwinter Chronicles. Coming in with a whopping twenty three questions, here's a portion of the interview:

5)PWC files question: will you add a downloader, in the game, so the users will be able to download the PWC file (and maybe haks and override) and putting them in their right destination?

Rob Mc Ginnis: That's the plan.

7) While "hiding" it seems to me quite good, invisibility is different from NWN1... once when you were invisible and were at a certain distance from the viewer, you eventually disappeared from sight. Now, as checks to spot succeed when you're near, you still are visible also if you go far from the viewer. Things get right again when you pass an area. It works bad also when you become invisible from a certain distance but still in sight...they still see you!

Rob Mc Ginnis: In single player, when one member of your party spots a stealthed creature, everyone in the party knows. In multiplayer, this has caused a few issues. With the new party system in NWN2, some changes had to be made to the way spot and listen worked. This has caused some problems in multiplayer, especially in PvP environments. All players are part of the same faction. When one faction member spots or hears a stealthed creature/player everyone else in the faction can spot or hear that creature as well, making PvP impossible. This is something we hope to have fixed very soon.
