Adam Carpenter tells us about the Vortex gameplay style and the daily testing of Fury staff just before lunch. He leaves out what they have for lunch but it's still an interesting read.

For those who aren't familiar with the game type, Vortex is an enhancement on the traditional FPS capture the flag game type. In Vortex, the goal is to collect vortex crystals and return them to your base. You gain the crystals by killing a little bug like creature called the Perkon. Each time he dies, he drops a crystal that your team needs to pick up and return to their base. The first team to get four crystals wins the match. Unlike standard CTF, returning a crystal doesn't immediately grant you a point. Each time you return a crystal it is socketed in your base. Socketed crystals are not safe and can be stolen by the enemy team. This creates a much greater number of tactical options than one normally finds in vanilla CTF.
