New Consoles Inflate Game Prices

NextGeneration has an informative piece on the price of video games, which has gone up thanks to the new generation of games. It used to be that a new game cost $40, now it's closed to $60. Next Generation asks if this is a fad or a trend and has some bad news.

Now, 20-odd months on from the Xbox 360's launch and half a year into the PlayStation 3's life, we ask how the $60 game experiment is going. Are consumers buying those higher priced games?
