In a move that seems odd, but is no surprise, Sony today announced that Rockstar is hard at work on a Playstation 3 exclusive. The move comes only a few months after Rockstar bigwigs whined about the technical hurdles of making a game work on the Xbox 360, which does have a bit less raw horse power than its shiny competitor. The new game is a cinematic crime thriller that will likely get rated MO - Martians Only.

The companies said they wouldn't talk about the details of the arrangement other than to say it is not referring to upcoming title LA Noire. That Rockstar game is a "next generation crime thriller" developed by the Australia-based studio Team Bondi, and is said to "blend cinema and gaming."
