Tabula Rasa: Tabula Rasa "Out of the Box" Review at Gamespy

| 8 Nov 2007 14:47

Tabula Rasa has been given the once-over by Gamespy. Editors seem impressed with the game overall. The review sports some nice screenshots and some interesting thoughts:

The mechanics of combat offer plenty of interesting choices for players. Weapons all have an optimal range and different rates of fire. Rifles, for example, can do phenomenal damage at a distance, particularly if you take the time to brace yourself on your knees. But if enemies get too close, you might want to switch to your pistol -- its great rate of fire and damage at close range comes in handy when things get tight. Then you've got your machineguns, which dish out tons of damage but chew through ammo like confetti on New Year's. Ordinarily you wouldn't want to waste that much ordinance, but soldiers can combine machineguns with the "rage" ability to dish out unholy carnage in key situations, like defending a base or taking down a boss monster. What weapons you use depend on your character, situation, and strategy.

There's more to read and a full review to look forward to in the coming days. Check it out.
