World Of Warcraft: New Sunwell Info From Neth

An unofficial Q&A session went down on the forums today regarding the next instance on the plate for Blizzard: The Sunwell Plateau

(My apologies to the original posters, but I have cleaned up your questions for grammar and punctuation.)

Q: Have you guys even started working on this instance?

A: Oh yes. We've been working on it. It's pretty. Shiny. Glowy. Sparkly. Oh so nice. All that beautiful Blood Elf architecture to feast your eyes on.

Q: What percentage of the user base do you expect to see sunwell? Considering it's harder than BT. What percentage of guilds are in BT now? 3%?. (I am aware there is a 5 man with it, but you can't really expect anything "pretty, shiny, glowy and sparkly" from that).

A: As you said, there is also a 5 player dungeon that is going to be there among other things so anyone level 70 should be able to go there and get a good look around and get involved in this area. Do you want me to guess the percentage of people? No. I don't play those guessing games. Someone always gets hurt.

It's early on a Monday and the dripping negativity doesn't become you. We're excited about the Sunwell Plateau and looking forward to seeing everyone else get a chance to get in and see the work we've put into it.

Q: Seriously...can we get some kind of ETA?

A: No ETA to give and you know we don't give them normally. We will get into more details before too much longer so that we can answer all of the questions everyone has about what we have in store.

Q: But Neth, is the rumor I heard (read) about true?

A: It's not a rumor. I believe you are referring to information that was said by Jeff Kaplan.

Here's a quote from him about it:

Sunwell is coming along nicely. It will be on the PTR shortly after 2.3 goes to the live realms. We still need to perfect 2.3 a bit on the PTR.

The 5 person dungeon is complete and the 25 person raid instance is progressing nicely. There's also a cool "public" area featuring brand new daily quests called Sunwell Isle.

We really are looking forward to people being able to get in there and see what we've put together.

Q: Does this mean that it is going to have recycled Silvermoon City architecture with nothing more than the same mobs reskinned that are in TK?

A: You've only seen some of the great Blood Elf architecture with Silvermoon City. I don't see how it could be recycled when we are talking about a consistency of an architecture style that is relatable to the Blood Elves. We're expanding on it and using it throughout the Plateau in all it's glory.

Will the armor be shiny? It's the Blood Elves. They are all about shiny. Some would say they are shiny on the outside so you don't see the darkness on the inside, but that' could be debatable based on which side you're on. ;)

Q: As long as there's an easy way for both factions to get there I'll be happy.
