Kotaku is reporting that two longtime Gamespot reviewers have turned in their resignations this week. Freelance writer Frank Provo turned in his termination notice and cited the firing of Jeff Gerstmann as his primary reason for so doing.

Yesterday, Gamespot podcaster, Alex Navarro, turned in his resignation. While the reasons are not known for his departure, it appears that Navarro has been writing on Gerstmann's personal blog in the past month or so. Kotaku is planning to contact Navarro to determine his reasons for leaving.

Gamespot's Editorial Director Ricardo Torres is quoted as saying:

"We know we lost fans, but we're still getting e-mails of support from folks who say 'We still love the site and won't give up on it'." He reiterated multiple times that GameSpot is trying to "move forward", stressing "We owe it to the site and our readers who support it."

Stayed tuned for more as it comes in.
