Stargate Worlds: Q&A with Sean Dugan at MMOZone

| 15 Feb 2008 17:16

Dutch site MMO Zone caught up with CME's Lead Content Designer, Sean Dugan, who divulged some interesting info about their upcoming Stargate Worlds MMO:

MMOZone: Are you also working on sandbox gameplay elements, enabling players to create their own content? Think of Star Wars Galaxies, which has excellent support for players to organize all kinds of social events, or EVE Online which has the freedom for players to do whatever they want, such as exploration, trading and pirating.

Sean: We are a story driven game and to tell a good story we have to create some structure. So we have an over-arching plotline with moments where players can make key choices about how they relate to the plotline. Metaphorically, it's like you cannot change whether Hitler invades Poland but you can decide if you support the move or not. There are also a lot of different smaller stories told in our game. Beyond that, we're planning layers of gameplay for the player to explore on their own which we hope will provide for some interesting emergent behavior.
