Age of Conan: Tortage Islands

Gamespy has a developer profile of the Tortage Islands as featured in the upcoming Age of Conan MMO:

One of the great challenges facing the developers of Age of Conan: Hyborean Adventures is the difficulty in filling in the blank spaces in Robert E. Howard's map. While the original creator of Conan and Hyborea and the authors that followed him did a masterful job creating a fictional history, geography and cultural map of the world, there's only so much detail that can fit into a novel, comic book or movie. The problem of building Conan's world, however, necessitates filling in all the little gaps in the world with the kind of interesting content and conflict that the players will use to challenge themselves.

As the game has edged closer to release, we've been pleased to present a series of Hyborean regional profiles, looking into the blank spaces of Conan's world and finding out how Funcom plans to fill them. Check out some images, video-flybys and a sneak peek at the kinds of challenges and enemies that players will face in that region. In this edition, we travel to Tortage Island where players will begin their adventure with battles against Scaleskin Lizards and Vengeful Mummies.

The article features several highlighted areas along with in-game movies of each. Enjoy!
