We've found some more information about Turbine's efforts to obtain some assests from soon to be bankrupt 3DO.
According to Reuters, Turbine Entertainment Software and Eidos PLC are the two most active bidders on 3DO properties. As for Turbine's involvement, it seems that they are very interested in getting the rights to "Might & Magic" as well as the "Army Men" franchise. They are also bidding on two different groups of patents (unfortunately, which groups and what technologies aren't mentioned in the article).
Given Turbine's goal of making quality Massive Online Games, there just might be opportunities in the future for getting together with your Druid and Paladin friends. Or perhaps there is opportunity for recreating those massive little plastic green army men battles you used to play as a child. Or maybe those new patents will go to making the next version of the Turbine Graphics Engine? Who knows?
Okay, so I lack the good humored writing skills of all of the other editors here at the site. But hey! I'm sleepy! That's like +10 points, right?
