MTV is reporting that Microsoft is at work on a Wiimote-like add-on for the Xbox 360. There is some question about whether this is real or just the leftover of an April Fools joke gone too far, but there is a good summary on Yahoo! News.

Internet reports suggest Microsoft is working on a Nintendo Wii-style controller for its Xbox 360 video game system.

According to the reports, users would be able to control on-screen actions in Xbox 360 games by physically moving the remote through a 3-D plane. That would create the possibility for, say, a tennis game in which players could control play by swinging their arms as though holding a racket.
