Star Wars Galaxies: 20MB Prepatch Patch - Tuesday, Aug 12

Be prepared for a long, long patch if you log on today. The estimated time is roughly two and a half hours on my pokey slow-mo 56k modem. The servers did not go down, so if you are already on, you will have to leave the game to get the pre-patch. Presumably, this measure is to lessen the loads on the servers tomorrow. Here is the quote by Holocron, posted shortly after 3pm Eastern on the Announcements forum of the official SWG site.

An approximately 20MB patch for the client has just been posted in preparation for the monthly update. Just a heads-up in case you are wondering what the big patch is...!
