Jumpgate Evolution: US-Amananth Sustains Market Damage; Recovers Quickly

| 15 Aug 2003 19:36

Approximately 10,485 powerplants were damaged in this attack. Following the area invasion, natively produced Amananth powerplants quickly started repopulating the station market.

"The resilience of Amananth station is remarkable. Production of products was not affected in the slightest, just current stocks. The station enabled repair routines within a half hour, which is impressive, to say the least. By reclaiming materials from the damaged equipment, thousands of commodities reentered the market in raw form, giving the market a kick start in other areas of production," commented the Economic Affairs Office this morning. "Some market protection safeguards are in place, and we believe it is due to this the damage was not as widespread as seen in previous Conflux attacks." The list of materials reclaimed from the damaged powerplants were Indium, Uranium, Gallium, Phosphorus, Silicon, Vanadium, Helium, Xenon, Nitrogen, Cesium, Chemicals, and Erbium. "We are quite confident we can apply some of the lessons we saw Amananth display last night to our TRI markets, although we of course are hoping we don't see similar attacks. As Amananth is usually the first warning we get towards what the Conflux are up to, we keep a close eye on them."

Among the casualties sustained last night was TRI-Pilot4 ("Jackpot") who was among the few pilots directly responding to the area attack. He was injured by other TRI pilots while successfully serving as diversion for blockade breaking pilots shipping out Flashfires produced at the station afterward. The Enforcer pilot is reported to be in "excellent health and great spirits" this morning and recovering nicely.
