In case you've been under a rock the last three days or so, the Internet has been afire with speculation about Blizzard's upcoming Saturday announcement.

First off, accessing any Blizzard site the past three days has been bringing up a new splash screen that's been changing minutely every day. Today's entry is at the right. Click on it.

If you look closely, there are faint images of at least two runes from Lord of Destruction.

Then to add fuel to the rumor mill's fire, Diabloii.net is claiming 'inside information' from 'reliable sources' that Diablo 3 is indeed going to be announced on Saturday:

With this week's speculation over the Blizzard teasers, more and more reports in the media, and numerous tips coming direct us at IncGamers from reliable inside industry sources in the past 24 hours, we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008.

So fans of the Diablo series can continue to dream. We'll find out Saturday if that dream can become a reality.
