Lich King Beta Key: Screenshot Contest
The Wrath of the Lich King beta is under way, and while we here at the WarCry Network are having a good ol' time tooling around Northrend ... well, it can get a bit lonely. So - thanks to the fine folks at Blizzard - we'd like to extend an invitation to all of you to try for a chance to come join The Mage They Call Jayne(z), the Awesome Brigade, and the <Evil League of Evil> for your own Lich King beta adventure!
We have some nifty goodies up for grabs: five (5) ready-to-go Wrath of the Lich King beta keys; and twenty (20) cards from Blizzard's WorldWide Invitational 2008 event held in Paris which register you for the beta (though when the key comes may vary) and give you your very own mini-Tyrael in-game pet.
As much as we'd love for all of you to come and join us, for the moment we have only these five-and-twenty ... and that's where the contest part comes in. This first contest is for the five beta keys - for the WWI Paris cards, well, I suggest you check back next Thursday the 14th!
So, let's get down to business. There's some other competition that kicks off right about now-ish, right? Since we're all feeling a bit of that "Faster, Higher, Stronger" competitive spirit, I'm proud to formally announce and kick off:
WarCry's Lich King "Olympian" Screenshot Contest
What we here at WarCry would like to see is how this competitive spirit flows through Azeroth and Outland. So, put on your thinking caps and make sure your screenshot-taking finger is properly stretched!
Lich King Hopefuls, we'd like to see your best "Olympian" in-game World of WarCraft screenshots.
What does this mean? Well, that's entirely up to you - the only limits here are your imagination and the game itself.
The lucky photographers of our five favorite "Olympian" screenshots get to join us in Northrend. Will you be one of them?
The Rules
*Although everyone is welcome to submit an entry for fun, these five keys will only work to upgrade accounts on US/Oceania servers - not EU. The twenty WWI cards, however, don't have this restriction. Look for those next week!
*Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and clarity
*Editing the screenshots (for instance, using Photoshop) is forbidden, and any edited entries will be disqualified. You may, however, choose to submit a caption to accompany the image if you feel it needs further explanation. This is entirely optional, and completely at your discretion. Captions should be included separately from the image itself - for instance, in the body of the email.
*You must have a registered WarCry account to enter. (If you don't yet have one, fear not - it's completely free!
*Send your entry as an email attachment to (lichkingbetacontest@warcry.com) - .jpg, .gif, .png files only, please! Please use the email registered to your WarCry account, or include your account name. If you can no longer access or otherwise use this email, you must provide your WarCry account name in your entry. Otherwise, your entry will be discarded.
*Submissions are limited to one per person.
*The dates of entry for this contest are: Noon (12:00 PM) on Friday, August 08th, 2008 to Noon (12:00 PM) Wednesday, August 13th, 2008. (All times are EST unless specified otherwise)*Entries received after noon on Wednesday the 13th will be disqualified.
*The five (5) winners will be announced by 5:00 PM (17:00) on Friday, August 15th, 2008.
*Contestants must be 13 years of age or older.
