Please read these rules before entering our GameStop Final Fantasy XI Online Beta Giveaway (the "Giveaway").

By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by these rules and acknowledge that you satisfy all Giveaway eligibility requirements. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

1. Entries: To enter, submit your e-mail address on our Giveaway sign-up page. Alternately, you may send on a hand printed, in blue or black ink, on a 3-inch-by-5-inch postcard, your full name, home address--including ZIP code, home telephone number with area code, and e-mail address (if available)--and mailing the postcard in a first-class stamped envelope to:

Only one (1) entry per person is permitted (for online entrants, "one person" means one individual, regardless of the number of e-mail addresses that that person maintains). In the event of any dispute, online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the e-mail address that was entered. Sponsor is not responsible for: (a) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted, or damaged transmissions or entries; (b) telephone,electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or other computer- or communications-related malfunctions or failures; (c) any Giveway disruptions, injuries, losses, or damages that are caused by events that are beyond the control of Sponsor; or (d) any printing or typographical errors in any materials that are associated with the Giveaway. 2. Eligibility: NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. THE SWEEPSTAKES IS OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES WHO ARE LEGAL ADULTS IN THEIR STATE. Employees and other representatives of Gamestop.com, and its affiliates and advisors (as well as the immediate family members of each of them) are not eligible to win prizes. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Offer void where prohibited. Sponsor can accept only those entries that are completed and submitted in the format that is designated above.

3. Giveaway Period: Giveaway will begin at 12:01 a.m. CST on August 21st, 2003, and will end at 11:59 p.m. CST on September 12th, 2003. All entries must be received during the Giveaway Period to be eligible to win a prize.

4. Prizes: There will be fifteen (15) prizewinners. Prizewinners will receive the following:

Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries. Prizes are not transferable, and no substitutions or cash exchanges are permissible, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize. Prizes are awarded AS IS and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (INCLUDING, WITHOUT IMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE). THE USE OF ANY PRIZE IS AT THE WINNER'S OWN RISK. All taxes that are associated with the receipt of any prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

5. Winner Selection: There will be fifteen (15) prizewinners in this contest. We will draw a winner for Giveaway on or before September 18th, 2003. The winner will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period. The drawing will be held at Sponsor's office at 2250 William D Tate Avenue, Grapevine, Texas 76051. Sponsor will attempt to notify the winner by e-mail and/or telephone within two (2) days after the drawing date. The winner must respond to the notification within two (2)days, or he/she will forfeit the prize. If a selected winner fails to claim a prize or fails to return an executed affidavit and consent in a timely manner, the winner will forfeit his/her prize and an alternate winner will be selected. By entering Giveaway, entrants consent to being placed on a mailing list for promotional and other materials, as set forth in Section 7.

6. General Release: BY ENTERING GIVEAWAY OR ACCEPTING ANY PRIZE, ENTRANTS RELEASE SPONSOR AND ITS AFFILIATED COMPANIES, AND EACH OF THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENCIES, FROM ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY CLAIMS, COSTS, INJURIES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND THAT ARISE OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION TO THE GIVEAWAY WITH THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, OR USE OF ANY PRIZE (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, CLAIMS, COSTS, INJURIES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, AND DAMAGES THAT ARE RELATED TO PERSONAL INJURIES, DEATH, DAMAGE TO OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, RIGHTS OF PUBLICITY OR PRIVACY, OR DEFAMATION), WHETHER UNDER A THEORY OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, WHETHER ACTIVE, PASSIVE, OR IMPUTED), STRICT LIABILITY, PRODUCT LIABILITY, CONTRIBUTION, OR ANY OTHER THEORY.

7. Use of Winner's Name, Likeness, Etc.: Except where prohibited by law, entry into Giveaway constitutes permission to use winner's name, address, likeness, and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation. Online entrants will be registered to receive Gamestop.com e-mails and may receive other promotional mailings. Entrants have the option to unsubscribe from the e-mails at any time. As a condition of being awarded any prize, a winner will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, release of liability, and, except where prohibited by law, consent to the use of his/her name, address, likeness, and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation.

Entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects.
