2008 was a great year for Jumpgate Evolution and its development, and now we've leapt into 2009 with a spring in our foot we thought we'd take a quick look back at some of the top stories that came out of 2008.Jumpgate Evolution Playable at Connect - March 2008
In March Jumpgate Evolution was fully playable for the first time at Codemasters Online Connect, a two-day gaming event held in UK for the fans. The game went down a storm with those who played it, showing just a snippet of what's due for the full game release.Emissaries - March 2008
In early 2008 we launched the Emissary program with the first five Emissaries coming on board after a nomination and voting period, and we're glad to say they're all still with us today helping out on the forums and playing an important role within the community. To date the Emissaries have helped guide new players and participate in important discussion relating to the games direction. Towards the end of 2008 we signed up an additional four Emissaries, two for the French community and two for the German community.New Website - June 2008
During 2008 the official Jumpgate Evolution website went through some significant changes. The website was re-launched with a new skin and functionality in June, and then saw an additional skin change in November to what you see today with the website, now utilising the key art similar to the box packaging.Jumpgate Finds Russian Partner - August 2008
In August we announced a Russian partner who will operate and publish the game in Russia, bringing the game to an expansive audience outside of the usual Europe and North American territories.Jumpgate Evolution Packaging - September 2008
After extensive research and consumer surveys of five potential pack shots for the game box, we revealed the chosen choice in September. The pack shot depicts the action orientated combat within the game and is definitely destined to stand out amongst the crowd on store shelves.150k Beta Signups - November 2008
In November we hit the 150k Beta signup milestone which became a worthy topic for discussion and applause. To many, this news represented what Jumpgate Evolution can and will achieve in the Massive Multiplayer Online Gaming space as the developers and community alike prepare to crash the existing MMOG party.Throughout the year Jumpgate Evolution has been watched closely by the press with interviews, videos, screenshots and hands-on reports. We saw some great feedback resulting from showcasing the game at the Games Convention in Leipzig (video: http://www.jumpgateevolution.com/videos.php) and the Penny Arcade Expedition in USA, with press reports still streaming in as more and more people discover, experience and anticipate the game.
All in all, 2008 was good preparation for what 2009 holds in store and we can't wait to share it with you all!
