TRON 2.0 (PC)
An "upgrade" truly worth upgrading for.
By Sal "Sluggo" Accardo | Aug. 27, 2003We should be so lucky as to have more games like TRON 2.0.
Yes, it's another in a never-ending procession of games based on films ... and yet nothing about it feels like a cheap cash-in, as so often happens these days. In fact, just about everything in TRON 2.0 -- from its deep story, engaging gameplay, amazingly detailed levels and unique visuals -- raises the bar for how movie-licensed games (or games in general, for that matter) should be made. A few moments of frustration and questionable design decisions may deprive it of the "Game of the Year" status attained by Monolith's last outing (No One Lives Forever 2), but TRON 2.0 may be the best original game released for the PC so far this year.
