38Studios: Copernicus Clarification
image

Earlier today, WarCry reported that 38Studios head, Curt Schilling, had hit the road looking for cash for 38's MMO, Copernicus. WarCry has received some clarification from the studio's PR representative, Andrea Schneider.

WarCry asked Schneider whether or not the news that Schilling was out soliciting financial backers for Copernicus, spelled bad news for the game's development. Schneider replied: "Development of Copernicus is moving right along! Development is in no danger of stopping in the immediate future."

In addition to the news that Copernicus is moving along developmentally, Ms. Schneider took issue with the original article at Boston.com. Boston.com stated that Copernicus is due to be released in Quarter 4 2010. Schneider clarified this information by saying that "this is not, nor has ever been, an official release date. When the company first formed, tentative dates were discussed; however, 38 Studios will release Copernicus when the project is complete to our standards and satisfaction. Fans can look forward to 2010 when the company will begin discussing details on the intellectual property."

We'll keep you posted with any further developments. Thanks to Andrea Schneider for the information!
