Asherons Call: Sunrise sunset

I'm sure many of you have noticed my participation in the site waning in the last few weeks. This has been due to me looking for and finally obtaining a new job. What this means is that I won't have the flexible schedule I once enjoyed that allowed me to update CoD regularly and keep the Asheron's Call community informed. I like to think that this site is fairly important to the community and I don't want to see it harmed because I don't have the time to devote to it. That being the case, it is time to let someone else take over the reigns as Site Manager.

Fortunately, Ophelea has agreed to take over in my place. She's really been an asset to CoD since she joined a few months ago and I have the utmost confidence in the work she'll do for the site and the community. I actually think she'll be a true manager for the site, bringing out the best of the staff. She also has a lot of excitement about the site and the game that I think she will energize CoD quite a bit. I expect we'll be seeing a very different site soon.

I have some mixed emotions right now about leaving the Crossroads of Dereth. While I am very excited about starting a new job, I am going to really miss some aspects of the site. I was brought on board almost a year ago as the Items Editor and I survived the collapse of the site and its tempestuous rebirth. Eventually I took on the role of Site Manager, and I really enjoyed it...for the most part. Dealing with moderation issues was never fun for me, but writing content, especially the lore, was always enjoyable. I really will miss writing that content for the site, but I simply won't have time for it any more. Now is the time for someone else to take on that role and hopefully amaze the community!

In case you were wondering, I'm not leaving the game, not at all. I'll still be knocking around Asheron's Call for some time to come. I might even host that Portal Space quest sometime soon!

Now I'll close as the ancient Empyreans might once have, "May Light fall gently upon your shoulders."

A final semi-related note, my resignation will mark the end of an era for CoD. All of the previous Site Managers played on Thistledown. Ophelea now breaks this tradition, being the first Site Manager from Leafcull.
