The Warhammer Online site has been updated with a pair of articles. The first is a developer diary from crafting designer Phillip Chan. The second details some of the celebratory events surrounding WAR's first anniversary. Grab the links below:
- Crafting Director Phillip Chan: In 1.3.2, we are going to make good on a promise we made to the player base regarding the availability of unique Hybrid Potion ingredients and dyes in the Butchering system. Butchers/Apothecaries can now create defense hybrid potions which run the gamut from adding to a player's resists and reducing incoming damage to stat increases for Weapon Skill and Toughness. I hope that these become as popular and as widely used as the offensive hybrid potions. In addition to these new potion ingredients, new dye pigments will provide new coloring options unique to Butchers/Apothecaries that I hope will give them additional revenue in the virtual marketplace, as well as increase customization options for the players at large.
- WAR Celebrates: Can you believe it has been one year today since WAR first opened its gates to the world? It's been a heck of a journey. We've made a number of changes, but you have only seen the tip of the iceberg on how we intend to improve your experience. Together, with your feedback, we'll continue to work to make WAR an even better game as we head into the future!
The past 365 days have provided many challenges and triumphs and, as we prepare for 1.3.2 and beyond, we're aiming to hit the issues that matter the most to you. In addition to the four new careers, numerous Live Events, the medallion system, Keep upgrades, city siege improvements, and other new features, we're now turning our focus to improving balance, performance, and the Tier 4 game play experience. In addition, we're looking at improving the new-player experience and taking the pain out of the campaign by amping up Fortress runs and making them something to look forward to.
