Death and its repercussions are of keen interest to most MMO players. Allods Online devs have addressed this interest in a new article at the official site outlining the mechanics of death. Keep reading!
Each of the inhabitants of the Allods Universe treats death on the battlefield in their own manner. However, for citizens of the Empire and the League, death is more an attribute than an end in and of itself.
For the Kanians, death is a rest from daily issues and concerns, for Gibberlings it is an unfortunate mistake, and for Elves death is the culmination of their existence, one of the moments which must be of the most beautiful in their life.
Members of the Empire have a similar approach to the concept of death on the battlefield.
Orcs give the same importance to death as losing at the final game for the Imperial Cup of Goblinoball: 'Anyway, there will be more matches and more finals'.
Xadaganians feel death is not persistent, as it is just an obstacle on the way to reach their goal. Arisen, for obvious reasons, believe death has more value than life itself. For those who have risen from the dead, death grants immortality.
The reason for such a careless attitude toward a perishable existence can be easily explained. Though allods inhabitants are not immortal and their bodies can be affected by age and disease; each person that dies on the battlefield does not go to oblivion but rather has a chance to resurrect.
Death Mechanism Facts:
Time spent in Purgatory is related to the character development and level. High level heroes will have to wait longer for their turn to be released. However, this timeframe can be reduced by using 'Mirra', which can be acquired from specific dealers (NPCs). Heroes with enough Mirra may ask Tensess' Servant for their favour.
Remember to get Mirra while still alive, there are no merchants in Purgatory.
The Hero will revive at the resurrection location nearest to where they died; no experience, equipment or items are lost upon death.
Sounds pretty forgiving.
