Lets get ready to R U M B L E !!!!!!!!!!!!
WoW Warcry is sponsoring our FIRST Fan Fiction contest, and boy, oh boy, do we have some cool prizes for YOU!
Here's the skinny....
RULES:
Pay attention!
1). Fiction submitted that is too short (under 1,500-2,000 words) 'loses points' with our judges. Fiction that is too long (over 5,000 words) may not be read in its entirety (If we miss the climatic ending of yer story, it may make or break yer chances of winning though), so its a good idea to stay within the word count parameters...
2). Fiction MUST include references to events that have happened in the Warcraft timeline (check out our history page for info).
3). Submissions MUST include one of the two themes listed below these rules.
All submissions MUST be received within one month! We will announce prize winners 3-5 days from the end of the contest! Contest begins TODAY, and ends Monday, October 20, 2003! You may submit last minute entries on Oct 19th.
The persons with the best stories that are the most creative/imaginative, weighed against the rules listed above will take home the bacon!
....and just WHAT exactly is the 'bacon' you ask???
GRAND PRIZE: Set of three Warcraft books (Day of the Dragon, Lord of the Clans, & The Last Guardian) as well as a set of three Warcraft III action figures! (Tichondrius, Prince Arthas, and Shandrius Feathermoon)
1st Prize: Set of three action figures (Tichondrius, Prince Arthas, and Shandrius Feathermoon).
2nd Prize: Set of three Warcraft books (Day of the Dragon, Lord of the Clans, & The Last Guardian)
3rd Prize: 1 Day of the Dragon book & 1 Prince Arthas action figure.
FIVE runners up will be selected who will each receive a copy of The Lord of the Clans book.
Warcry staff will vote on best of the best (Grand prize), 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and the 5 runners up based on the rules stated above.
Get our yer pen and paper! Pick one of these two topics to write about:
Undead -
Thrall and Cairne Bloodhoof have found themselves to be in the position of accepting the advice of the council of sages and allowing Sylvanas and her Forsaken to join the Horde, however, they suspect the Undead of something sinister....
What do the Undead have planned for the Horde? Do they really have a common goal and are ready to cooperate with the other races? Or do they secretly have a devious plot of trickery and deception?
*or*
Gnomes -An ancient, barbaric evil rose up from deep within the earth and destroyed Gnomeregan, obliterating their technologies, and killing nearly half of the Gnomes and scattered the survivors. The Gnomes fled to the Dwarven stronghold, Ironforge where they have recommitted themselves to the Alliance and now begin to invent new devices to retake their home....
What has life been like for the Gnomes? How has the traumatic event of losing their home, their loved ones, and all the fruits of their labor affected them?
Good Luck! E-mail your submission(s) to wowcontest@warcry.com!
