World Of Warcraft: Comment on Blizzard's workload and hint at a new project!

| 27 Sep 2003 05:34

On the Battle.net Warcraft III forums, GFraizer made this statement regarding Blizzard's workload.

Blizzard has grown quite a bit since I joined in 1997. Now south is doing two games at once + StarCraft Ghost. We have more employees, and more QA since I joined. There are way way way way way way more Battle.net Team people. But there are still things which take time and there is still a wait for various things including new games, patches, battle.net improvements, hack bans, etc. One thing that won't change is that people need to be patient. If you can't wait any longer, try/do something else, then return when there are patches. That way you don't get burned out.

What may interest you is this line: "Now south is doing two games at once + StarCraft Ghost." We already know that one of those projects is World of Warcraft (duh) but before now Blizzard hasn't commented what else was going on. We now know in addition to whatever Blizzard North is working on, Blizzard south is hard at work on a new project. Starcraft II? Something completely different? Only time will tell.
