Nintendo 64
The Nintendo 64 is fifth-generation home console designed to play proprietary ROM cartridges. The Nintendo 64 helped popularize the use of analog sticks in home consoles, though the gamepad itself uses a digital system to detect stick position. Besides the analog stick, gamepad has seven face buttons, two shoulder buttons, one trigger, and one D-pad. Although the relatively small storage space of cartridges compared to optical media often limited game content, the Nintendo 64 was otherwise technologically advanced.
